STRATEGIC PLAN
(Adopted by the Vestry in September 2001)
WORSHIP
1. To create a unique worship style representative of the diverse traditions of our parish members.
2. To experiment with the various forms of prayer and worship and to utilize the full range of liturgical options available within the Episcopal tradition of America.
3. To expand our musical repertoire by adding hymns and music representative of the cultural traditions of our parish family.
4. To develop a hymn -book that includes traditional hymnology, contemporary music, children’s music, gospel and praise music.
OUTREACH
1. To establish a routine and active outreach service to a population outside of the parish in affiliation with an existing Bergen County provider.
2. To create a parish operated and managed, unique outreach program to a population outside the parish, which is responsive to the County’s needs assessment, plan.
STEWARDSHIP
1. To continue our stewardship program and every member canvas so outlined by The Department of Missions.
2. To expand the stewardship program and develop a formal system that includes the pledging of time and talent.
PASTORAL CARE
1. To develop a pastoral team comprised of senior citizens to connect on a weekly basis by telephone or through home visitation with the parish elderly, shut-ins.
2. To create an ongoing home visitation program.
3. To expand our Lay Eucharistic Minister program in order to bring communion to those in need.
MANAGEMENT/ADMINISTRATION
1. To develop a system to provide oversight to all church groups.
2. To increase formal communication within the church through the development of a newsletter, organizational and committee reports, and an annual events and activities calendar.
3. To develop an annual evaluation process of policies and procedures, bylaws, and other management systems.
CARE OF PROPERTY
1. To develop a plan for the rehabilitation of the external areas of the church buildings and site.
2. To create a maintenance plan for all church facilities.
3. To assess the use of our liturgical space and to develop the space in keeping with proposed changes in liturgy and music.
EDUCATION
1. To initiate Godly Play as our Sunday school program for children from ages 3 to11.
2. To develop and implement an ongoing confirmation program and inquirer’s class.
3. To develop programming for adolescents, young adults and adults.
EVANGELISM
1. To increase motivation, morale, and a sense of identity and community among the young parishioners.
2. To implement a variety of program events that ensures a constant flow of new visitors to the congregation.
3. To increase public awareness of the existence of the church and its events and programs.
