The family of Christ Church though small in number, is comprised of some resilient individuals who have answered God’s call to serve.

Family Shelter:  Church Church in coloration with The Interreligious Fellowship for the Homeless (IRF), has committed to serve as a support congregation for the Family Shelter project within Bergen Country.  Volunteers are at the heart of the network, providing variety of services that include cooking and serving meals, playing with the children, helping with homework, providing overnight security and serving a light breakfast before the guests leave for jobs or school.

Parish Nursing/ Congregational Health Ministry:
This committee embraces the concept that there are strong connections between faith, health and caring for one another. That spiritual and mental health plays an important role in our wellness and feeling “whole”.  This group maintances a weekly (First Assist) assignment of
Medical/Nursing Professionals and Lay members.

Since 2003 Christ Church has been involved with various  joint ministries with
Grace Lutheran Church of Teaneck.

Pastoral Care:
A team of trained leaders providing pastoral care and visitation to sick and/or shut-in members of both congregations. At the monthly joint worship between Grace and Christ the visitors are commissioned to provide the Eucharist during their visits.

Prayer Shawl Ministry:
A group of people (mostly women, but men are invited) gathering twice a month to knit shawls to be given as signs of God's love to those who are sick or shut-in and to the newly baptized.

Outreach to the Troops:
The two churches are in contact with Soldiers' Angels, providing material assistance to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as offering support to returning troops and hospitalized veterans and families of fallen soldiers.

For the Mission of the Church

Almighty God, you sent your Son Jesus Christ to reconcile
the world to yourself: We praise and bless you for those
whom you have sent in the power of the Spirit to preach the
Gospel to all nations. We thank you that in all parts of the
earth a community of love has been gathered together by
their prayers and labors, and that in every place your servants
call upon your Name; for the kingdom and the power and
the glory are yours for ever.  Amen.

The Book of Common Prayer.
